Firstly, what is your role at Keeler?

I’m a Senior Product Manager at Keeler, looking after our binocular indirect and digital product portfolios. Product managers are usually jack-of-all-trades and are connected with all parts of the business. But in general, I create the long-term product roadmap for my segments and bridge the gap between internal development teams, like R&D, and our customers to bring it to fruition.

What do you love about working at Keeler?

My favorite part about working for Keeler is the opportunity to improve the capabilities of ophthalmologists all around the world with new technologies. We have tens of thousands of users around the world using our products. It’s a blessing (and a huge responsibility!) to come up with new ideas, have your company be receptive and develop these ideas, and actually see the end benefit they bring to doctors and patients.

How does a day at Keeler typically look for you?

We have a hybrid model, so I’m working from home a few days and the others I’m in the office. But each day does vary depending on the current priorities. One week I could be busy with customer visits, while the next week is full of workshops with the R&D team to better define product functionality. And other weeks are slower in terms of travel and meetings, but busy in terms of catching up on market trends or putting together a business case for our next product. But that’s my favorite part of being a product manager – it keeps you on your toes!

What is your favorite way to start the day?

I like to start my days early so I can get ready at a relaxed pace. It just sets such a nice tone for the rest of the day. And of course, a nice hot shower and cup of chai (though I don’t recommend having these together!)

Lastly, tell us a fun fact about yourself.

When I was working in India, I secretly took a trip back home to the US to surprise my parents. The complete and utter shock on their faces was so worth it. I’ll never forget my dad literally frozen in place, so confused by the sight of me that he didn’t even open the door!
