Focused on Friday - episode 14: Kathleen Guerrero, M.D.

Kathleen Guerrero, M.D.

We recently had a chance to speak with Dr. Kathleen Guerrero, an ophthalmologist and retina specialist, at the AAO conference in Chicago. Dr. Guerrero is starting in a new practice in Puerto Rico, having completed her fellowship at the University of Virginia. We were excited to hear about her experience using Keeler's BIOs as an integral part of her day-to-day work.

Keep your eyes peeled for episode 15!

What do you like most about your Keeler BIO?

I love the optics of it; the clarity of the fundus when you focus is just incredible. In fellowship I taught residents how to use them with the teaching scope, and it was really helpful for me to show pathology, but at the same time, for them to learn how to use the indirect very well. I think Keeler dominates that part: in retina, we cannot do anything without the indirects.

Are you a retina specialist? If so, are you using it every day?

Yes, I am a retina specialist and yes, I do. Keeler is with me every time. And now I'm starting in a new practice, and I know that the practice has the slit lamps too, the Keeler slit lamps. So I'm excited to see how the slit lamp works. And you have other equipment, too, like cryo. It’s the most elegant cryo I've ever seen! I like how it freezes and half freezes: it's very quick.
