D-KAT (R-Type) applanation tonometer
Reliability and ease of use
Discover the added reassurance of a digital Keeler Applanation Tonometer (D-KAT), which uses the Goldmann method of measuring intraocular pressure.
Suitable for fixing to your tower-illumination H-style slit lamp and equipped with an LED display and internal electronics to guarantee fast and accurate measurements of IOP, this R-Type model is fully rotatable, for easy viewing during your slit lamp examinations.
Benefits
- Reliable diagnosis to 1 decimal place
- LED display – for ease of use in darkened environments
- Low battery usage
- Designed, engineered, and handmade in the UK
Our digital GAT range uses the Goldmann method of measuring intraocular pressure (IOP), which is to calculate the force required to flatten (applanate) a constant area (3.06mm) of the cornea to aide in the diagnosis of glaucoma.
Keeler digital applanation tonometers (D-KATs) are a versatile measurement device for a wide variety of lower and tower-illumination slit lamps.
Each unit contains a calibration arm and a re-usable tonometer cone. You will also receive a guide plate or connection post depending on your choice of D-KAT.
Usage overview
The D-KAT (R-Type) is a measurement device used to measure intraocular pressure which is one of the key biomarkers considered in diagnosing glaucoma. It is intended to be used by suitably trained and authorised healthcare professionals only.
Designed to be used with tower-illumination H-style slit lamps, there are two variants; the R-type is mounted on the optical body post for a secure fix, whilst the T-type can easily be removed for wider use within a multiple slit lamp practice.
